Just a quick note, as I'm rushing out this evening. Crystal Gal goes in the Hambleton (1m, listed handicap) at 3.00 tomorrow. Not a recommended bet, as I think her handicap mark is too high and the trip too short - recommended betting in weight for age contests over 10f+. Still at 25/1 she is a biggish price and I might have a small bet myself, and will certainly watch her with interest.
Catching up on Monday's system bets, the first Balding horse (Set the Trend) was a non-runner (Side Glance, from the Balding yard, took the race nicely at odds-on but was making his third run). The second, Moment of Time, pushed the odds-on chance for a while, and finished second. Ultimately, well beaten and the price was probably not much longer than it should have been. So no great value win, but not a big disappointment.

Hey, it's Zarkava,
Change the background colour of your blog, it's hard to read some of the words!
Finally got Mark Howard's book this morning. It's not been too painful flicking through, but Pekan Star hurt.
My current list of horses to back next time out is...
Gatepost, Modun, Zain Shamardal, Quadrant, Ace Master, Markab, Wonder of Wonders, Overpowered, Theyskens Theory, I Love Me and Saint Barths.
Don't know if I told you about Gatepost before. I saw him win at Folkestone and was really taken by him. He took forever to pick up and the hardest thing Frank had to do was pull him up. Thought he was seriously impressive over an inadequate 5f at York on Wednesday and I've backed him for the Coventry at 12s. Into 8s with Coral now.
Zain Shamardal won me a fair few quid in a double with Miss Work of Art. Shame Flood Plain couldn't make it a beautiful treble, would've been about £800 extra. He took forever to finally assert but he'll have learnt a lot and hopefully his confidence will have increased a lot.
Markab ran a really nice race in the Duke of York. Set a rapid pace, was only passed inside the furlong marker and was heavily eased in the final 100 yards. The time was 0.4 secs inside standard. He'll win the Golden Jubilee. Perfect prep.
Was seriously impressed with Theyskens Theory today, especially with Meehan's needing the run. She'll be a serious force in the 1m 3yo fillies races and maybe over further too.
St Barths I'm sure went in a lot of notebooks today. Ran a lovely race and would've gone very close to winning but for suffering plenty of interference in-running. Potentially a new Arcano.
Quadrant runs today in the 4.55 at Newbury and I Love Me runs at Newmarket in the 7f Listed race. She'll be a Andrew Balding system qualifier for you anyway.
Get on Golden Lilac for the French 1000. 7/2 with Bet365. If she doesn't win she'll be 2nd to Helleborine. Glaswegian or Salto wins the French 2000. Also watch out for Total Gallery in the Seine. He's switched stables and won a confidence booster last time out.
Won't be backing Flood Plain again, very disappointed with her run today.
Good luck with Lithuania...
